Kate Middleton's second pregnancy got off to a bumpy start.

As with her first pregnancy, she suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum. "Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today," Clarence House said in September. "The Duchess of Cambridge is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace."

After receiving medical attention and getting plenty of rest, she was able to resume her royal duties—which included a lot of public appearances. Here, E! News presents a timeline of her second pregnancy.

Sept. 8, 2014: "Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child," Clarence House said. "The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news."

Sept. 10, 2014: During an event for The Prince's Trust charity, Prince Charles, Middleton's father-in-law, told reporters he was "looking forward" to becoming a grandfather again. "I hope it will be a girl this time," he gushed.

Sept. 18, 2014: As she was still suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, Middleton canceled what would have been her first solo trip. "The decision was taken on the advice of doctors," Clarence House tweeted. The palace announced that her husband, Prince William, would "undertake the visit instead."

Oct. 1, 2014: Middleton canceled her fourth official appearance due to her health. Though she was unable to attend the launch of The Clore Art Room at London's Barlby Primary School, the mom-to-be was there in spirit. "I am truly sorry that I cannot be with you all today as you celebrate this milestone. As Patron of The Art Room I feel great pride to see the work that the charity is doing," she said.

Oct. 2, 2014: A recent incident "prompted Their Royal Highnesses to seek reasonable assurances" from an individual whom they've asked to stop "harassing and following both Prince George and his nanny," Buckingham Palace announced. "The individual was spotted at a central London Park in the vicinity of Prince George, who was removed from the Park immediately…Just like any parent, The Duke and Duchess want Prince George to have the freedom to safely experience normal childhood activities, like going to the park and playing with other children, without the threat of harassment or being placed under surveillance."

Oct. 8, 2014: Though it was rumored Middleton was scheduled to visit Olympic sailor Ben Ainslie's America's Cup team base in Portsmouth, Hampshire, Buckingham Palace told E! News that "no such visit was ever announced," adding, "We'll be looking at each of her public engagements on a case by case basis."

Oct. 13, 2014: Though she still hadn't been seen in public since her pregnancy announcement, Middleton became a Royal Patron of the 1851 Trust, which is the charity branch of the U.K. team's bid to bring the America's Cup to Britain. "I feel very fortunate to have enjoyed sailing from a young age and I know it is a great way of providing young people with the opportunity to develop skills and confidence."

Oct. 20, 2014: The royals were "delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in April 2015," the palace revealed. Middleton was suffering from acute morning sickness, but "her condition [was] steadily improving."

Oct. 21, 2014: Middleton made her first public appearance at London's Royal Garden Hotel. Wearing an Alexander McQueen coatdress and a Jane Taylor hat, she joined her husband in welcoming Tony Tan, the President of the Republic of Singapore, to the U.K. President Tan's wife said she was glad Middleton made the engagement. "So am I," she said. "I've been looking forward to getting out of the house, that's for sure!" Later that evening, Middleton attended the 2014 Wildlife Photograph Awards in a Jenny Packham dress.

Oct. 23, 2014: Wearing a Temperley London pre-fall 2014 dress, Middleton turned heads at the Action on Addiction Autumn Gala in London. The look became so popular that it sold out overnight!

Oct. 31, 2014: The royal family reportedly vacationed at Balmoral Palace.

Nov. 8, 2014: Middleton, in a a Matthew Williamson coatdress, visited the Valero oil refinery in Pembroke, Wales.

Nov. 9, 2014: Joined by her husband and other family members, Middleton watched Queen Elizabeth II lead the nation in a moment of silence, followed by a gun salute, in honor of Remembrance Sunday. The holiday recognizes the contributions made by British military servicemen and servicewomen.

Nov. 12, 2014: Middleton met with young athletes at a SportsAid workshop held in West London. While there, the pregnant duchess toured the GSK Human Performance Lab used by the 2020 Tokyo Olympic hopefuls.

Nov. 13, 2014: The royal couple attended the Royal Variety Performances at the London Palladium, where they enjoyed concerts by Ed Sheeran and Ellie Goulding, the latter of whom sang at their wedding reception in 2011. The parents-to-be also met the boys of One Direction, months before before Zayn Malik quit the band.

Nov. 19, 2014: The Jenny Packham and Hobbs-clad duchess greeted finalists for Place2Be's Wellbeing in Schools Awards at The Queen's Gallery in Kensington Palace, where she presented honors to this year's winners.

Nov. 25, 2014: Middleton attended the East Anglia's Children's Hospices Appeal launch, which helped raise about $15 million for a new hospice. Middleton met some of the families who benefited from the charity's work.

Dec. 7, 2014: The royal couple arrived in New York City for a three-day visit. "It's good to be here," Prince William told the Carlyle Hotel staff. At the time, a source told E! News, "This was Princess Diana's favorite hotel."

Dec. 8, 2014: During her first visit to Harlem, Middleton helped wrap Christmas gifts with Northside volunteers. When a woman told her to keep wrapping, the duchess rolled her eyes, and her reaction went viral. Later that night, with Prince William by her side, she met Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton during at an event at the British Consul General's Residence. Afterward, the Brits traveled to Brooklyn for a Nets game, where they chatted with Beyoncé and Jay-Z. LeBron James also gave them a jersey for their son.

Dec. 9, 2014: The royals, led by Sept. 11 Memorial and Museum president Joe Daniels and museum director Alice Greenwald, took a moment of silence and left flowers at the reflecting pools in the rainy day weather. They left their bouquet along with a note on the Flight 93 memorial panel, which read, "In sorrowful memory of those who died on 11th September and in admiration of the courage shown to rebuild." Later that night, Middleton and Prince William attended St. Andrews 600th anniversary dinner, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The event helped fund scholarships for students, among other things.

Dec. 15, 2014: A Winter Wonderland rep confirmed Middleton and her son had recently attended the holiday fair in London's Hyde Park. "Kate was so polite," a source said. "I don't think anyone even noticed that they were there."

Dec. 16, 2014: In her most casual look to date—a sweatshirt!—Middleton attended a Beaver Scout meeting in London to support the Scout Association's "Better Prepared" campaign, which helps children living in poorer areas. While there, she was photographed rolling her eyes yet again.

Dec. 17, 2014: Middleton and her royal relatives attended a pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace.

Dec. 25, 2014: While most of royal family attended the annual Christmas Day church service, one member was notably M.I.A. "I'm sorry we didn't bring George, but you would have heard him in the church," Middleton said. Though the prince was missed, the mom-to-be's parents and siblings managed to attend the service.

Jan. 9, 2015: PETA fêted Middleton's 33rd birthday by giving her a gift that was "equal parts chic and animal-friendly."

Jan. 12, 2015: Middleton treats herself to a shopping spree at the John Lewis department store in Chelsea. "They shopped for at least an hour," an eyewitness told E! News. "She was with two security guards but Kate carried all of her own bags and they did not look light."

Jan. 14, 2015: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, plus Prince Harry, joined Twitter...sort of.

Jan. 15, 2015: Middleton visited London's Barlby Primary School, where she met with students and officially named its new Clore Art Room. Several pupils presented the mom-to-be with a small chair decorated with stamps.

Jan. 16, 2015: With a bow on her bump, Middleton paid a visit to The Fostering Network's headquarters in London, where she met with foster caregivers, children and staff. Best of all, they all bonded over cups of tea!

Jan. 19, 2015: While opening the Kensington Leisure Center in London, Middleton gave a teen an update on her pregnancy. "It's moving all the time," she said, not revealing the gender. "I can feel it kicking now."

Jan. 23, 2015: After a busy few weeks, Middleton and her family reportedly vacationed in Mustique. While there, she celebrated her mother's 60th birthday.

Feb. 10, 2015: Still glowing from her vacation, Middleton made a private visit to Bethlem and Maudsley Hospital School in Beckenham, Kent. Middleton spent 90 minutes meeting with kids and staff at the school, which caters to children suffering from mental health problems. The nonprofit Place2Be arranged the duchess's visit.

Feb. 12, 2015: Middleton visited site of Ben Ainslie Racing and the 1851 Trust headquarter in Portsmouth. She wore a white Max Mara coat that may have looked familiar to royal admirers, as Princess Eugenie wore it first!

Feb. 15, 2015: Recycling a Seraphine coatdress, Middleton toured the Emma Bridgewater pottery factory in Stoke On Trent. The visit reminded people that the duchess is human, too, after a few gray hairs made headlines.

March 2, 2015: Middleton modeled a floral dress while celebrating The Goring Hotel in Victoria's 150th anniversary.

March 9, 2015: For Commonwealth Day, the pregnant royal wore an Alexander McQueen coatdress. She first wore the look in 2013 at the Trooping the Colour ceremony, just weeks before she gave birth to Prince George.

March 11, 2015: The duchess donned a Hobbs Dalmatian-print coat while at the Turner Contemporary art gallery to view Anthony Van Dyck's final self-portrait. While there, Middleton said, "I sometimes forget I'm pregnant."

March 12, 2015: Middleton toured the set of Downton Abbey at Ealing Studios. Afterward, executive producer Gareth Neame told E! News, "The duchess is a great fan of the show, so it was interesting to see her step into the world-renowned sets and see the characters come to life. She was so incredibly gracious to spend time with our actors and those behind the camera who bring the saga of the Crawley family to life."

March 13, 2015: During the Service of Commemoration event, Middleton and the rest of the royal family welcomed back troops who were stationed in Afghanistan.

March 17, 2015: The royal couple greeted cadets with shamrocks during the St. Patrick's Day parade.

March 19, 2015: London's Science Museum was closed to outside visitors as Middleton and her son looked at the exhibits. The two reportedly spent most of their time playing in the Pattern Pod, a hands-on gallery created for younger children to explore multi-sensory exhibits about plants, shapes, animals and other kid-friendly subjects with their parents.

March 27, 2015: Middleton made her final official appearance before giving birth while touring the Stephen Lawrence Centre, a place for community learning and social research. She and Prince William also learned about XLP, which works with disadvantaged young people, while visiting Christ Church in Gypsy Hill. Finally, the expectant parents traveled to an estate in nearby Sydenham to see the XLP mobile recording studio.

April 15, 2015: Ahead of Middleton's due date, St. Mary's Hospital posted No Parking signs in front of the Lindo Wing, due to the upcoming "special event" (i.e., royal baby No. 2's arrival). The signs will stay up until April 30.

Then Till Now: Waiting, waiting, tick-tock, tick-tock...

April 30, 2015: Prince Charles said, once again, during an event at Windsor Castle that he was hoping for a granddaughter. No pressure.

May 2, 2015: Kate was admitted to St. Mary's at 6 a.m. in London in "the early stages of labor," Kensington Palace announced in a statement—and, for the first time, via Twitter!
