Alec Baldwin's latest venture on Broadway is shutting down.
It was announced today that the play he's currently in, Orphans, which also stars Tom Sturridge and Ben Foster, will close on May 19 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater, according to a statement from the production.
The producers made the surprise announcement just days after the show earned two Tony Award nominations for Best Leading Actor (Sturridge) and Best Play Revival.
LaBeouf later admitted that tensions between the two caused him to drop out be subsequently replaced by Foster.
Orphans had been originally slated to run through June 30 but blamed lagging ticket sales for the main cause of the early close.
