30 Rock's Alec Baldwin: Republicans Are "In for a Very Tough Time!"

"You think I have an astute view of politics?" Alec Baldwin asked us backstage after we told the SAG Award winner for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy series exactly that. "That's the funniest thing I've ever heard!"
Well, it's not that funny. The 30 Rock star was at one point considering running for mayor of NYC, after all. Which is why we wanted to know his—yes, astute—opinion on the current state of presidential politics:

While sanity undoubtedly runs low in this town, some families certainly have more than others.
And after the whole Griffin O'Neal incident last week, we couldn't help but notice this very tragic family trend. From drug busts, to daddy issues, to depression, the craziness in H'wood only gets worse with these famous fams.
So, as we take a look back at the most dysfunctional dynasties, we're happy to report some have totally turned their luck around. Like Drew Barrymore and Angelina Jolie—both beautiful ladies totally beat the odds, and turned a run-in with dysfunction into a quest for success.
And while there are some still struggling to find their way in Hollyweird, we have faith they can get it together (LiLo, we're talking to you doll).
But hey, Team Truth has hope for all these dazzling dynasties…even if craziness does run in a family's genes.

Alec Baldwin is back, baby!
The 30 Rock star, who's costar Tina Fey recently announced he's signed on for a potential 7th season of the hit NBC show, tweeted his return to the little blue bird of Twitter Saturday.

UPDATE: Wegmans Food Markets has decided to resume running ad featuring Alec Baldwin.
"We regret ending the Alec Baldwin holiday commercials one week earlier than planned in response to a couple of dozen complaints. We have decided to run the commercials again, effective immediately," read a statement on the Wegmans website. "Clearly, many more people support Alec, as evidenced by the hundreds and hundreds of tweets, emails, and phone calls we have received."

Commercials for Wegmans Food Markets featuring the actor have been pulled after some folks complained about his recent behavior on an American Airlines plane.

Well, well, well. Despite (or because of?) Alec Baldwin's hilarious weekend spoof, it looks like the last laugh in his airline debacle is still up for grabs.
And American Airlines is doing everything they can to ensure it's theirs (while punishing their sitcom-loving passengers in the process!).
E! News has confirmed that the seemingly grudge-holding American Airlines Flight Attendants Union has taken the first steps to make sure Baldwin—or his TV alter ego—never step foot in their planes again.
