Later acquitted, some believed it was the usual L.A. verdict: not guilty by reason of fame. But the fact that Bakely had been married 10 times with a history of hustling celebs helped Blake's case. In another odd L.A. tradition, the bankrupt actor was subsequently ordered to pay millions in a civil suit.
