Getting Chic With George: Grammys Style Inspiration

Getting Chic With George - Column Mug - The Trend

The Grammy Awards red carpet is absolutely unpredictable, which, of course, makes it the most fun of award shows!

While I love actresses to look like movie stars, I think being a musician gives you leeway to dress any way you like.

So here are some fun 'styling mash-ups' that serve as inspiration for how I'd like to see some of the ladies look on Grammy evening—or hey, just some great ideas for your next Halloween!

Getting chic with George: fashion can (and should be!) fun

Beyonce, Linda Evans, Dynasty, Rita Hayworth, Gilda, Rick James Ron Galella, Bobby Holland/Michael Ochs Archives, Jason Merritt, Columbia Pictures/Getty Images

Beyoncé: The star would look best with the glitz and glam of Linda Evans circa Dynasty crossed with the smoldering heat from Rita Hayworth in Gilda and then funk it up with a touch of Rick James.

Getting chic with George: hot spring trends for 2013

Pink, Sharon Stone, Basic Instinct, Doris Day, David Bowie, Ziggy Stardust Angela Weiss, Michael Ochs Archives, Hulton Archive/Getty Images, TriStar Pictures

Pink: Harness the raw sexual energy of Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct, but sweetened (and classed!) up with some '50s era Doris Day. Then add a dash of Ziggy Stardust's (i.e. David Bowie) intergalactic glam rock for the perfect red carpt moment!

Best dressed stars of the Grammy Awards

Rihanna, Carmen Jones, Dorothy Dandridge, Siouxsie Sioux, Prince 20th Century Fox, Ebet Roberts, Fin Costello/Redferns/Getty Images, Nick Sadler/StarTraks

Rihanna: Combine Dorothy Dandridge in Carmen Jones with some punked up Siouxsie Sioux— topped of with a little '80s Prince

Grammys dress code will be enforced

Taylor Swift, Carrie, Sissy Spacek, Donna Summer, Daryl Hannah, Bladerunner Ben Pruchnie, Fotos International/Getty Images, MGM, Warner Bros.

Taylor Swift The country star could use a dose of '70s disco era Donna Summer blended with the innocence yet unbridled power of Sissy Spacek in Carrie, with a subtle hint of Daryl Hannah in Blade Runner to push it to the edge!

Which stars are you excited to see at the Grammy Awards on Sunday?
