Well, color us excited!

Hollywood's leading ladies have been embracing some fabulous hues—namely, purple and turquoise—on the red carpet lately. When actress Jessica Chastain stepped out to the Help premiere on Monday in an oh-so-pretty plum Oscar de la Renta strapless gown with turquoise drop earrings, the fashion set was all abuzz about how her look was so similar to Cameron Diaz's Christian Dior confection at the 2007 Costume Institute Gala.

More from Marc Malkin

Hollywood's hottest guys are getting all tied up. No, not in a kinky sort of way.

We're talking bow ties.

David Beckham and Ashton Kutcher are just a couple of the celebs who frequently break out the classic neckwear in funky colors and patterns. (FYI: Bow ties apparently date back to the Prussian Wars of the 17th century when Croatian mercenaries began tying scarves around their necks to hold together the opening of their shirts.)

"Formality doesn't feel formal anymore, it's simply stylish and feels right," says one of our new fave bow tie designers, Alexander Olch. "The great thing about a bow tie is that it dresses up anything else you wear."

Check out some of our favorite fun looks in our Bow Tie Boys photo gallery.

OK, fashionistas, we need your help. We're torn on this whole Silly Bandz trend. While some schools are banning kids from wearing them, celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker and Rebecca Romijn can't get enough of the animal-shaped rubber bracelets.

You don't have to be a parent, either. Young Hollywood types like Mary-Kate Olsen have been spotted with the Bandz, and trading bracelets over drinks is the new thing.

So you tell us: cool or crap?
