Taylor Swift has crossed over to the dark side.
Yes, the 23-year-old singer had undeniably brunette locks when she was snapped Sunday, Oct. 20, in Cape Town, South Africa. But not to worry, blondies: It's only a wig for her role in The Giver!
Ms. Swift, who reportedly plays The Giver's daughter in the film adaptation of Lois Lowry's 1993 dystopian young adult novel, is in good company on this project. Her costars include Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes, Jeff Bridges, Brenton Thwaites, Cameron Monaghan and the oh-so-handsome Alexander Skarsgård.
After wrapping her first day on set, T.Swift grabbed dinner with Alexander and Katie. In September, Suri Cruises mama gushed to E! News that she was "so excited" to work on the film with such a talented cast.
Taylor, too, is clearly eager to bring light to her character and bond with her costars, but she's not slacking off on her singing! She released her new song "Sweeter Than Fiction" at midnight on Monday, Oct. 21. The song plays during the closing credits of One Chance, a film about Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts, and was cowritten by Jack Antonoff, the guitarist of fun.
Tay's clearly found the right movie-music balance to get the best of both worlds!
