Even the royal baby was no match for the Kate effect!

While the world was cooing over the first photos of Prince George of Cambridge, fashionistas were already rushing to try and buy Kate Middleton's latest look.

Unfortunately for them, it turns out the polka-dot Jenny Packham dress was not for sale.

The label's brand director, Blaire McColl, confirmed to Vanity Fair that the crepe de chine dress was made exclusively for the Duchess of Cambridge and the company has no plans to make it available for purchase.

This news is sure to disappoint thousands of women across the globe who were so eager to nab the sheath that their heavy traffic crashed the designer's website yesterday.

While most of Kate's frocks are easily accessible and thus sell out hours after she is spotted in them, this is probably the second one she's worn that is custom-made—the first obviously being her iconic Alexander McQueen gown.

This is not the first or second time, however, that Prince William's wife has worn Jenny Packham. The duchess has long been a fan of the British designer, often opting for her gowns for formal events such as lace creation she worn to the Royal Albert Hall in 2012.

It should be noted that while new mommies couldn't get their hands on Kate's dress, one item that they could snap up was the royal baby's first swaddle. So naturally, the itty-bitty blanket completely sold out in one day.
