Piers Morgan isn't officially signed to replace Larry King just yet, but that doesn't mean the America's Got Talent judge isn't already planning for the CNN gig.

Sorta.

"I want to do a talk show in America," Morgan told us last night at the Hollywood launch event for Paris Hilton's new fragrance Tease at MyStudio.

His dream guest? It's a fellow Brit, one he's already interviewed on his U.K. talk show.

"I'd love to do Simon Cowell," Morgan said. "We had round one in Britain and I nearly took him down, made him cry."

Describing King as one his "heroes," Morgan said, "Whoever fills Larry King's suspenders is going to have to be doing a pretty good job."

Making Cowell tear up, Piers? Yeah, we think you'd a pretty good job stateside, too.
