In addition to Batman v Superman, Zack Snyder's 2016 Man of Steel sequel starring returning star Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck, Warner Bros. Pictures said in a statement on Wednesday that 10 new movies featuring superheroes from DC Comics, which is owned by the former studio's parent company, are in the works, in collaboration with New Line Cinema.
The films, in order of release date, are:
1. Suicide Squad: 2016
In a shareholder meeting held on Wednesday, Warner Bros. Entertainment CEO Kevin Tsujihara described the movie, set to be directed by Fury's David Ayer, as "a gritty story of a team of supervillains who take on black ops missions for the U.S. government," according to Comicbook.com.
2. Wonder Woman: 2017
It was confirmed in 2013 that Israeli actress Gal Gadot will play the female superhero, an Amazon warrior princess, and a photo of her wearing an unconventional version of the character's costume was released in July. Warner Bros. Pictures announced in its statement on Wednesday that she will also play the role in stand-alone movie. This will mark the first big screen adaptation of Wonder Woman.
Sue Kroll, Warner Bros. Pictures' president of worldwide marketing, told the The Wall Street Journal earlier this year that the studio as hoping to produce a Wonder Woman spinoff movie, adding, "The world is ready for her."
3. Justice League Part One: 2017
Cavill will reprise his role as Superman for a third time in this superhero ensemble film, DC's competition to Marvel's hit The Avengers franchise, while Affleck will star again as Batman. Amy Adams, who is reprising her role as Lois Lane in Batman v Superman, will play the part again in this movie.
Greg Silverman, Warner Bros. Pictures' president of worldwide production, told The Wall Street Journal earlier this year that the studio "has set plans" to make a Justice League movie starring Cavill, Affleck and Gadot, as well as the superhero Cyborg.
4. The LEGO Batman Movie: 2017
The caped crusader seen in this past winter's hit animated comedy film is getting a spinoff, while a regular LEGO Movie sequel is also planned, for 2018. The cast for either has not been revealed. Will Arnett played Batman in the original movie.
5. Aquaman: 2018
Jason Momoa, 35, will play the title character, who has superhuman strength, can breathe underwater and can communicate with marine life, in what will marks the first big screen adaptation of his story.
Momoa, best known for her role as late Dothraki warlord and husband of Daenerys Targaryen on HBO's Game of Thrones, last appeared in a leading role on the big screen in the summer thriller Road to Paloma, which he also directed and which also stars his wife and The Cosby Show alum Lisa Bonet. The actor also played the title role in a 2011 remake of Conan the Barbarian.
It was reported in August that the studio was developing the first standalone movie for Aquaman, a founding member of the Justice League of superheroes, starring Momoa.
"Aloha to all my fans friends and family If u don't know Know u know," the Hawaii-born actor said on his Instagram page on Wednesday. "This kanaka maoli [native Hawaiian] Is Aquaman. Cheeehoooiooo."

6. The Flash: 2018
The Perks of Being a Wallflower star and Californication alum Ezra Miller, 22, will play the superhero Barry Allen, who can run faster than the speed of light. The franchise was recently adapted for television—a series debuted last week on The CW network, which is half-owned by Warner Bros. Entertainment, to moderate ratings.
7. Shazam: 2019
News about plans for a movie based on the DC character, who also known as Captain Marvel and Billy Batson and can transform into a superhero by saying the word "Shazam," was announced earlier this year. Dwayne Johnson revealed in September that he will play villain Black Adam.
8. Justice League Part Two: 2019
Snyder returns to helm the superhero ensemble film's second installment, whose characters and actors have not been announced.
9. Cyborg: 2020
It was reported earlier this year that Ray Fisher, a theater actor, will play Justice League member Cyborg, aka Victor Stone, in Batman v Superman. Warner Bros. confirmed on Wednesday that he will also star in a standalone movie.
10. Green Lantern: 2020
A new big screen adaptation of the franchise, centering around superheroes who get their powers from a magic ring. The cast has not been revealed. The previous Green Lantern film, released in 2011, starred Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, while his love interest Carol Ferris, was portrayed by Blake Lively. The actors ended up getting married and are currently expecting their first child.
In addition to these films, Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema plan to release standalone Batman and Superman films. Details were not provided.
The former studio is also developing three movies based on Harry Potter creator JK Rowling's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them book.
