After the 20-year-old "Wrecking Ball" singer's appearance on the NBC morning show, Billy Ray is speaking out in support of his headline-making celeb spawn via Twitter.
"Wanna know how I feel as a Father?Just heard my daughter say@MileyCyrus ‘I'm the happiest I've ever been in my whole life'.All I ever wanted," the 52-year-old posted on the social networking site.
The quote Billy Ray is referencing is Miley's answer to Matt Lauer's question, "Do you have a five-year plan?"
"Not really, I'm just focused on when I get to go on tour, which is going to be next year, which I'm really excited about," Miley said. "So that's really my focus. My plan is focusing on right now and continuing what I'm doing because I'm the happiest I've ever been in my whole life. So I'm really happy to be here."
Defending her recent controversial antics (her vicious Twitter feud with Sinéad O'Connor, her controversial VMA performance and new naked music video) Miley continued, "I don't really worry about anything, because I know who I am and I know that I'm an artist and I know that I've put all this time and this effort into my record and my record is proof of really who I am. And I said something before where, for me, the most important thing is being a really good person and that doesn't depend on what you do onstage, that depends on how you treat people when you're off stage and I know how I treat people. So I'm not really too worried about it."
Miley even gave Billy Ray and mom Tish Cyrus a shout out.
"For me, my parents have always just been about being really who you are and figuring that out," Liam Hemsworth's ex said when asked about her parents' influence in her life. "And what's good about that is I trust them a lot. I can go to them with pretty much anything. There's been a lot of kids who have to hide things from their parents that I don't have too because my parents are just accepting and that's what real love is."
