Who wouldn't die to see Sir Elton John on Glee?!

"I love Glee!" the 63-year-old new father told us at yesterday's Hollywood premiere of Gnomeo & Juliet.

But there's just one thing standing between John and a guest spot on the hit Fox show...

He hasn't been invited yet!

"I would love to be on Glee," John said, "but you have to be asked to be on Glee."

John said he recently hit the recording studio with Glee star Matthew Morrison.

"I did a duet of 'Mona Lisas and Madhatters' and 'Rocket Man' with him last Monday," he said, "and that's going to come out in the spring and it sounds brilliant."

You would think the real-life Mr. Schue would have at least mentioned an offer to the six-time Grammy winner, right?

"No!" laughed John. "I mean, there's more people than him on the show..."

Even if we won't see him roaming the halls of McKinley High anytime soon, John did tell reporters he's "so happy with" the two original songs he worked on for the Gnomeo & Juliet soundtrack, one of which, "Hello, Hello," is a duet with a pop superstar he's performed with before: Lady Gaga.

Now it's your turn to chime in: Would you like to see Elton on Glee? Sound off below.
