Just because Taylor Swift was at last night's Met Costume Institute Gala in New York City that doesn't mean she wasn't thinking about the flooding that's devastated her hometown.

"Right now Nashville is under water," Swift told E! News on her way into the fashion fete. "We had the worst storm in 35 years, so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. A lot of people back home are not doing well."

Many of Swift's fellow country stars took to Twitter to express their shock and dismay and ask for help...

"Naomi Judd just called Ch. 2 to tell her neighbors via the news that their fence has fallen and their Buffalo have escaped," singer and former Dancing With the Stars contestant, Chuck Wicks, posted, later adding, "Just found out my Bus/Trailer is Under Water."

Ironically, Brad Paisley's new single is called "Water," and he's currently on the road for a tour called "H2O." "I think all my road guitar gear, amps, effects are under 3 ft of river," he twittered. He did try to lighten the mood a bit over the weekend by saying, "Just saw two girrafes, two elephants, and two rhinos walking down the road toward a HUGE wooden boat. Thinking about followiing them."

A Nashville music executive tells us there's already talk of a fundraiser being organized for the legendary Grand Ole Opry House and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum to repair any water damage.

Dierks Bentley canceled gigs on Sunday and Monday when he found his home had been hit by the floods. He posted a pic of himself trying to empty his basement with a bucket. Another pic showed a makeshift pump he put together to help get the job done.

At least 24 people are reported to have died after severe storms hit the area over the weekend and caused the Cumberland River to flood areas in Tennessee, Kentucky and Mississippi with muddy water.

Country singer and former DWTS pro hoofer Julianne Hough twittered, "Hey guys! Please keep the families and everyone else in Nashville in your thoughts and prayers... They really need it right now! Thanks."

Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney were among the many who used Twitter to urge people to help relief efforts by donating to the Nashville Red Cross.
