You'd think George Clooney would be all into making sure his girlfriend Stacy Keibler looks good on the red carpet.

Not really.

But for good reason...

"She's got such good taste," the Oscar winner told me at the Palms Springs International Film Festival gala.

Not that taste makes things that much easier.

"It's so much harder for women," Clooney said. "I go in, get my tux and stick it on. She can't wear the same dress twice. You get killed if you do."

Keibler laughed, "I definitely want to come back as a guy in my next life. It's so much easier."

I have to tell you that Clooney actually asked me about what I was wearing! I was in a black suit with a red gingham shirt and a black-and-white bow tie.

"The mixing of the plaids—that's OK?" he asked.

Sure!

I suggested he do the same at the Oscars. "I stick with the old-school stuff," he said. "The truth is, when you get older, you don't screw around with things. You start looking like you're trying too hard and trying to look young."

True, but you look good no matter what you're wearing, Mr. Clooney!
