BravoIggy Azalea appeared on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live last night and the rapper got awfully candid about a handful of stars.
Andy noted that Iggy has been involved in a number of feuds over the years, including a recent one with fellow rapper and her supposed friend, Macklemore. In his latest single, "White Privilege II," he accused his fancy friend of appropriating rap music. Macklemore later defended the song's lyrics, claiming he didn't mean to insult Iggy. Iggy accepted his apology on-air Wednesday, but she didn't let him off easily. "I read his review [in Billboard] and he was like, 'I should have called,'" she explained. "You should have, and you still didn't, so what's up with that?" In hindsight, she said, "I don't think it was intended as a diss, but at least I would have been prepared when the headlines came out. Like, 'All right, at least I know what it is.' At least I wouldn't have been blindsided."
But what about her alleged feud with Nicki Minaj? At the 2014 BET Awards, Minaj insinuated that Iggy doesn't write her own lyrics. But then again, as Iggy said matter-of-factly, "I have just as many people on my credits as she does on hers. I know I write mine, and if she writes her, I believe her, too."
But Iggy's sit down with Andy didn't revolve entirely around the rapper's unfriendly encounters. She also opened up about a lunch she had with Britney Spears last year before they recorded the song "Pretty Girls." Before the pretty women could get down to business, Britney's entourage had to do their work—i.e., do a total search of Iggy's house to ensure she wasn't hiding anything fishy. "They came and checked my place to make sure I wasn't trying to stash anything weird and, like, get it to her or something...to make sure I wasn't a bad influence. And I'm not. I passed the test!" Iggy told Andy. "I mean, I don't have like a crack den."
"Pretty Girls" underperformed on the Billboard charts, and at the time, Iggy blamed it on a lack of promotion. Though she later clarified that she wasn't throwing shade at Britney, that didn't stop the pop star from firing back on Twitter. "Can't wait to get back to Vegas. So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to... #YouWantAPieceOfMe," Britney tweeted in reference to Iggy's canceled Great Escape tour. But on WWHL Wednesday, Iggy insisted that they're "cool and always have been," adding that they've "never had a fight."
