Yes, that means folks like Michelle Marie, Colette Lush and Jessica Cabral are gone. (Seriously? Jessica Cabral? Would've been easier to understand if they'd given us any footage of her last performance, but whatever.)

The competition continues with the Showcase round next week, which will see the remaining singers perform in groups of 12—after being mentored by some familiar faces. Returning American Idol winners and finalists are returning to their old stomping grounds to help the final crop of contestants prepare for America's vote.

This year's slightly different, however, in that the judges will choose the top fourteen singers, letting the first eight move on to the live shows and the final six compete for the last two slots in the top ten. America will vote those last two singers in to the first live show on Feb. 25, when the top ten singers will perform on live TV for the first time.

What do you think of the top 24? Are you as baffled by Jessica Cabral's ouster as we are? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
