Keith Urban Needs Throat Surgery

Is there something in the water?
Keith Urban is going to have throat surgery later this month to have a polyp removed from his vocal cords, and he has been forced to postpone his All for the Hall concert benefiting the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
"The surgery, an out-patient procedure, while minor, will require complete voice rest followed by an undetermined period of recuperation," Urban's rep said.
The country singer is just one of several music-makers who's gone under the knife recently to ensure their pipes stay strong for the long haul.

Not content with the recently announced AMAs, ACMs or CMAs, the ACAs are back for a second go-round, as Fox this morning revealed the nominations for the American Country Awards.
So which country crooner came tops in the nominations and gets to lay claim to the honky-tonk crown?

Whether you're a fan of country music or not, you've got to admire the consistency with which the honky-tonk industry honors their own.
The nominations for the 45th Annual CMA Awards were announced this morning, and the usual suspects were all present and accounted for.
Don't believe us? Well, perhaps you've heard of a little trailblazer called Taylor Swift? Or bona fide TV star Blake Shelton? Do the names Keith Urban and Brad Paisley ring any bells? How about Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood? If so, then consider yourself already acquainted with the nominees.
In fact, the only surprise might be which of those ladies managed to break through into the traditional boys' club, the male-dominated Entertainer of the Year category…

Paparazzo: Keith Urban Attacked Me!

The way this paparazzo makes it out, Keith Urban came close to pulling a Sean Penn.
Willem Pietersen, the photographer who filed a complaint with Nashville police Monday, after the country music star allegedly assaulted the photog's car, tells E! News that he did nothing to warrant Urban's supposed action.
Save that picture-taking part, perhaps. Anyhow, here's what he has to say.

Nashville police have received a complaint from a paparazzo who claims that the country star banged on his car door after he tried to take pictures of Urban and wife Nicole Kidman on their way out of a restaurant last Wednesday.

I'm not a Nicole Kidman fan but in all fairness, she and Keith Urban never had a "honeymoon phase" because he went into rehab right after they married. They do seem off, even for them.

If Nic's recent fashion choices are any indication, something is definitely off in the Kidman/Urban household. A source in the Kidman camp even tells us, "She's losing it." Her mojo, that is. Well what do you think happens when you're married to Tom Cruise for 10 years and then trade him in for a short Australian cowboy? The ladylike actress is bound to have some sort of identity crisis at some point! But despite her sometimes expression-less face, Nic does seem happier than ever. Maybe she is too busy in mommy-mode raising her two young daughters to be as worried about her red carpet choices as she once was? And with a third baby possibly in the couple's future, looks like the Australian odd couple are here to stay. For now, at least.

So tell me Ted, the truth please. When Reese gave her speech about all high and mighty about girls becoming famous for reality TV and naked pics (which I agree with the message, just not the preacher), all E! seems to mention is that maybe she was referring to our dear ole Blake. No single mention of K-Dash, what-so-ever and becoming famous for re-al TV. Be honest, you or E! MUST be under contract not to say a bad word about those krazy Kardashians....right?? Just admit, she was dead on with the E! starlets. ADMIT Ted!

Miranda Lambert Rules the ACM Awards Again—and Taylor Swift Gets Mean!

Some shows lead to a chorus of boos and shouted requests for refunds, but the 46th Academy of Country Music Awards had much more to offer than just a man ranting onstage. Like Edward Cullen!
Why was Robert Pattinson there, you ask? To promote his new movie, of course. R.Pattz, plus a whole slew of country music stars were at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday night to both hand out and receive awards, with Blake Shelton and the honorable Reba McEntire hosting the festivities. Blake, soon to be cohosting NBC's The Voice, showed off his sense of humor at the top of the show by poking fun at Entertainer of the Year nominee Brad Paisley with a guitar sex joke. And really, is there any better kind? Blake told the crowd of Brad's intense guitar-ing ways: "If he plays that thing any harder, he's gonna get it pregnant."
Besides sexual instrument quips, there were also awards won, and of course, awards lost. How many did seven-nominee Miranda Lambert win? Plus, Taylor Swift stops being sweet and starts being mean...

First off, let's not put Vanessa in the same category as LeAnn. While LeAnn is desperate for any media attention, Vanessa's attorney said she was deeply upset over the release of the photos. True, the media attention doesn't hurt, but for someone who found fame through Disney? Not the best thing to improve her fan base. As for LeAnn? Well, we don't buy the whole losing weight for the wedding thing, nor do we simply think the photos are inaccurate as LeAnn claims. Gal doesn't seem to care whether it's positive or negative attention, as long as eyes are on her. One look at her Twitter will confirm.
