Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani dating is proof that opposites attract.

Sure, they're singers and coaches on The Voice, and they both know what it's like to go through a divorce in the public eye. But other than that...? The 39-year-old country boy and the 46-year-old Harajuku inspired rocker couldn't possibly be any more different.

Maybe Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale's exes just wanted to switch things up? Or perhaps what the pair have in common goes beyond the superficial? Either way, let's take a look at five major ways in which Blake and Gwen are total opposites.

1. Fashion: Blake—a proud, self-described "redneck"—often dresses the part. Gwen, on the other hand, has three clothing lines to her name and is clearly comfortable in haute couture. When it comes to personal style, what they wore to their weddings says a lot: He wore a brand new pair of Wrangler jeans when he said "I do," but she opted for a custom John Galliano for Dior pink ombre dress.

2. Fitness: Blake lost a noticeable amount of weight on what he jokingly called his "divorce diet," but for the most part, keeping a slim and trim figure ain't exactly top priority. He's outspoken about his love for beer and good down-home Southern cooking (read: fried food), but at 6-foot-5, he can afford to not count calories.

Gwen, contrarily, is a rocker revered for her rock-hard body. She readily admits those abs take work, but that's not to say she enjoys it. As she joked to Harper's Bazaar in 2012, "There is no secret: You just have to eat healthy, work out, and torture yourself!"

3. Family: Gwen has three sons with her ex: Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 20 months. "It's superfun being a mom," she told Vogue in 2012, "but it'snot what you think it's going to be." In the same interview, she noted that, "when you have a family of your own, it forces you to go into the adult world a little bit more."

Blake, however, doesn't have any children—and if this photo with Summer Rain Rutler proves anything, he doesn't necessarily have a lot of experience around 'em. Christina Aguilera's daughter looked quite distressed in Blake's arms. By his own admission, though, he didn't want to take the photo! "I mean, I have clearly been drinking in that picture," Blake later said on Late Night With Seth Meyers. "So, I'm like, 'Are you sure you want me?' Like, I'm not the guy. And the baby senses that a little bit...I don't want to hurt the baby and I could fall in that picture probably."

"I like babies! I just don't want to drop one," he clarified. "That's all I'm saying."

4. Roots: Blake grew up in Southern Oklahoma and Gwen grew up in Southern California—big difference. From there, he became a well established country artist based in Nashville, and she climbed onto the mainstream charts out of L.A.

5. The Other Type of Roots: Blake and Gwen are both chill and seem easy to hang out with, but we're going to bet he's a little lot more low-key than her. He's a jeans and flannel shirt kinda guy, but she's immaculately pulled together at every moment.

And while Blake is embracing a slight salt-and-pepper look, Gwen's all about the high-maintenance hairstyle. Back in 2012 interview with Harper's Bazaar, she shared a little insight into how her often-platinum blond locks never have darker roots growing in. "Do you think Marilyn Monroe had to talk about this?" she asked, smiling. "Well, I heard she did hers with a Q-tip every 10 days, so I try to follow Marilyn's rule."

That's a lot of upkeep, but Blake's been with a blonde before. Plus, in the same interview about her hair, Gwen admitted she's not above hiding her in-need-of-treatment tresses under a hat! Pointing to her houndstooth fedora, she said, "You'll never see me with roots either."

Maybe Gwen and Blake have more in common than we thought. Either way, they might be different in a lot of ways, but they seem to have the same type of feelings for each other.
