Did Donald Trump just get himself fired? Well, not quite.

The businessman may just announced that he's running for president in the 2016 election, which led many to wonder about the fate of his longstanding reality TV show, Celebrity Apprentice.

An NBC spokesperson tells E! News, "We will re-evaluate Trump's role as host of Celebrity Apprentice should it become necessary, as we are committed to this franchise."

The statement comes on the heels of reports that the 15th season of Trump's show has been pulled, which based on the above, is clearly not the case.

The 69-year-old broke the political news this morning at a press conference held at, where else, Trump Tower in New York City.

"The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else's problems," he told a room filled with eager reporters. "It's true, and these are the best and finest…We don't have victories anymore."

Shortly after, Trump formally announced his candidacy via press release which further shared his feelings on the current political climate.

"I have a great love for our country, but it is a country that is in serious trouble. We have lost the respect of the entire world. Americans deserve better than what they get from their politicians—who are all talk and no action!" he explained. "I have built a great company, created thousands of jobs and built a tremendous net worth with some of the finest and most prestigious assets in the world—and very little debt! All Americans deserve the same opportunity."
