Don't look for John Travolta to pop up in the upcoming television production of Grease.
"I did it [already]," the actor told me at the G'Day USA Gala and AACTA International Awards. "I want to leave Danny the way he was. I don't even know what I would do in it if I did it."
Fox announced last month that Julianne Hough will be playing Sandy and Vanessa Hudgens is stepping into Rizzo's Pink Ladies jacket for Grease: Live, a live adaptation of the iconic musical set to air in January 2016.

We will be seeing Travolta on TV in his first television role since Welcome Back, Kotter as defense attorney Robert Shaprio in Ryan Murphy's upcoming miniseries, American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.
"Ryan Murphy and [co-producer] Nina Jacobson called and said they wanted to have dinner and discuss the possibility," Travolta said. "I took a long time to decide, but I read the first three scripts and then I asked very important people in my life what they thought...and they all agreed that this was a good thing to do and I decided to do it. I have my work cut out for me."
Cuba Gooding Jr. will star as Simpson with David Schwimmer playing defense attorney and Simpson friend Robert Kardashian.
Sarah Paulson signed on last month to play Marcia Clark. The American Horror Story actress recently told me she "can't wait" to wear a wig being made for Clark's signature curly (and big!) locks.
Travolta recalled that he was in Santa Barbara when the now infamous verdict was read. "I was with my father, I believe, because he was obsessed with it because he was a big football fan," he said. "So, he was very curious about the whole thing."
