UPDATE: The L.A. County District Attorney's Office confirms that Knight has been charged with one count of murder, one count of attempted murder and two counts of hit-and-run with an allegation that he committed a serious and violent felony while out on bail in another pending case. He had been out on bail in an unrelated robbery case. The former hip-hop mogul is currently being held without bail and is due to be arraigned Tuesday. If convicted on all counts, Knight is facing a maximum sentence of life in state prison.

Rap mogul Suge Knight was ordered today to be held without bail in the Men's Central Jail until his court appearance Tuesday.

His bail had originally been set at $2 million, but a bail commissioner amended his status Monday morning after determining that Knight is a potential "flight risk" and "three strike candidate," Los Angeles Sheriffs Department spokeswoman Nicole Nishida tells E! News. His criminal past was also cited as a reason as was the possibility of witness intimidation.

Knight is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning, but his attorney, James E. Blatt, had previously revealed that Knight wouldn't have been able to make bail until Monday at the earliest, anyway.

The Death Row Records founder was arrested for suspicion of murder in connection to the fatal hit-and-run last Thursday that killed Terry Carter and injured Cle Sloan. Blatt told NBC News that the incident was a "tragic accident."

The music mogul has had several run-ins with the law recently, as he has found himself as one of the people injured during a shooting at Chris Brown's pre-VMA party at nightclub 10ak. He underwent surgery at the time, but it remains unclear whether or not he was the intended target. Knight was also arrested and charged for robbery in October after allegedly trying to steal a paparazzo's camera.
