It doesn't matter how old you are, hearing the word "poop" on live TV will make you laugh like a little kid. So when Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs flubbed Dick Pope's name during the Oscars nominations announcement and said "Dick Poop" instead, the world clung to it.

Instantly going viral, the video shows the president announcing Pope's nomination for Best Cinematography for Mr. Turner, but her pronunciation mistake quickly overlooked the honor. Pope, however, had no idea what had happened because he was busy in London. The 67-year-old also has no idea what "trending" means, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"If that's what people talk to each other about on [Twitter], I would never be on it," he told the newspaper. "Not if that's the level of intelligent conversation."

Although he criticized Twitter, he did find some humor in Isaacs' hilarious error.

"I've been called a lot worse in my time," he joked. "It doesn't bother me in the slightest. But the poor president of the academy must feel terrible about making the slip-up. It was 5:30 in the morning."

What a guy! It was one of the most important moments of his career and he feels sorry for her! We have to say, we're starting to like this guy.

Pope and Mike Leigh, the film's director, have collaborated for years, but the Oscar nominee says that Leigh gets the recognition, more often than not. This year, they get to share.

"It's usually about the actor or Mike, so we're both pleased that we have been recognized for our work behind the camera," Pope said. "We hit it off when we first met and that's never really changed. I suppose we're two very like-minded individuals—our outlook on life, politics."

Congratulations to everyone who worked on Mr. Turner!
