Move over traditional wedding gowns, bridal capes and jumpsuits are about to change the game.
Just ask Solange Knowles, who married longtime love Alan Ferguson on Nov. 16 in New Orleans. We already know that Solange loves to experiment with looks on the red carpet, so it's no surprise that the singer continued that practice with—count 'em—five chic ensembles on her wedding day.
First, we have to talk about those jumpsuits: There were three, all by designer Stéphane Rolland. Solange wore a cream-colored cape confection on the way to the wedding (she pedaled to the church on a flower-adorned bike alongside Ferguson, who rode a white bike of his own).
After the wedding, Solange showed out in a one-sleeve (and one-leg) jumpsuit. The next look was another caped outfit: A jumpsuit with a sexy keyhole cutout.
As for the main attraction? The star donned a dramatic Kenzo gown during the ceremony with statement gold cuffs and a floor-length cape. The singer kept her hair simple with a cropped afro style, and wore fire engine red lips throughout the night.
Finally, the singer's reception attire—an airy, slit-to-there wrap dress—was the perfect look to finish the festivities in (and wear for an adorable mother-and-son dance).
Solange looked seriously beautiful on her big day—even when, as seen in post-ceremony pics, she broke out in hives. (Big sis Beyoncé reportedly held up a coat over Solange's face in the car, but paparazzi still managed to get a shot of the skin snafu.)
As for what Mrs. Carter wore? A curve-hugging Torn by Ronny Kobo white midi with sky-high platforms (Jay-Z and daughter Blue Ivy also stepped out in all-white).
