We always knew singer Ellie Goulding has major pipes, but who knew she had such impressive abs?
The 27-year-old "Lights" singer graces the July issue of Self, looking especially fit in a crop top and track pants.
Inside the mag Ellie opened up about how working out is like water or food for her—it's something she needs every day of her life. "My training is part of my life," she said. "It's something I need to do every day, because it affects my mood, my fitness, even my mind-set onstage."
So even though Ellie gets a workout on stage, she has a rigorous, offstage exercise routine. She typically prefers a mix of boxing, gymnastics, martial arts, Barry's Bootcamp, Insanity DVD and yoga. Intense enough for ya? Well now we know how she got those killer abs.
As for her favorite way to workout, that would be yoga. "I get the biggest high when I do yoga," she revealed. "People don't realize that there's such an incredible drug in life that doesn't involve any substances."
And as if that exercise routine weren't disciplined enough, she also makes time to go running outside her London flat whenever she can. "I don't feel emotional when I run, and that's what I love about it," she explained. "It keeps me present more than anything else."
And while we love Ellie for her hit songs (pretty much all of her singles are on repeat during our workout, full disclosure), we also love her approach to staying fit.
"I've gained slightly different priorities while being on this planet, and one of them is to respect my body and to do as much as I can with it while I'm here."
