The Olympics may not necessarily be the biggest fashion event of the year, but that doesn't mean there isn't plenty of designer style that we're looking forward to seeing during the Opening Ceremony in Sochi.

Since we're pretty pumped for Friday's big event, we're taking a look at some official Olympic uniforms from over the years—all created by your favorite fashion designers!

Ralph Lauren for Team USA: First up is this year's Team USA's uniforms created by Mr. Americana himself, Ralph Lauren. This marks the fourth time Ralph Lauren has designed uniforms for Team USA, and these may be the most patriotic yet! The price tag is pretty steep, but if you're a die-hard fan you can buy the entire set at RalphLauren.com for $595.

Lacoste for France: Of course we are filled with Team USA spirit, but from a purely fashion perspective, we've gotta hand it to France for these 2014 Sochi Olympics uniforms designed by Lacoste. The sleek outfits have that classic Parisian vibe—They're chic, refined and totally runway-worthy.

Stella McCartney for United Kingdom: For the 2012 London Olympics, Stella McCartney was tapped to create the official uniforms for the United Kingdom, which were inspired by the Union Jack flag. McCartney has been collaborating with Adidas for years, so she was the perfect designer to create Great Britain's uniforms.

Giorgio Armani for Italy: Giorgio Armani designed the official uniforms for Italy during the 2012 London Olympics, and we love that he opted for an untraditional navy color palette instead of the typical red, white and green Italian flag colors. Not only did every Italian athlete get outfitted by Armani, but they also got Armani-designed luggage. Sweet!

Levi Strauss

Levi Strauss for Team USA: Giddyup! Team USA donned cowboy hats back during the 1984 Sarajevo Games. Athletes sported '80s-era shearling jackets, blue jeans and boots (oh-so American) from the iconic brand.
