Who Will Be Named Prince George's Royal Godparents? Our Experts Weigh In!

Now that Prince George is finally here, it's time to tie up some loose ends. First and foremost? Who will be named as the future King of England's godparents.

The role is an important one, so Kate Middleton and Prince William will need to carefully consider which family members should be given the honor and responsibility.

While there are a few obvious choices, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are able to extend the responsibility to anyone they prefer, within reason of course!

Royal party planning experts Emma Summers and Georgina Reames, co-founders of Bentley's Entertainments LA, weigh in on who they think their royal highnessnes will nominate.

Both ladies agree that the couple's siblings—Prince Harry, Pippa and James Middleton— will likely become the little prince's godparents.

But they're not going to be the only ones if history is any indicator…

"Someone from Diana's side of the family," Summers said. "Because she was such an important person to them obviously and they want to keep her memory living. So maybe one of her sisters, maybe Sarah or Lady Jane."

Baby George is expected to have many godparents, too. Prince Charles has eight, but a normal amount for any royal is around six, the experts say.

As for the christening, the public can expect to not be as looped in on the special ceremony as they were for the grand wedding.

"It will be a small, intimate affair. The Queen will be present and the Middleton family," Summers added.

"It will be very different from what we saw at the wedding," Reames explained. "A very private occasion and a very religious one."
