What's better than one royal baby? Two!

Just days before Kate Middleton is set to give birth to her first child with hubby Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge's cousin Zara Phillips has announced she's expecting her first child with husband Mike Tindall.

Talk about perfect timing for a royal playmate! Here's why these two royal babes are already on the fast track to becoming BFFs:

Tea for Two: Will and Kate are currently renovating their apartment in Kensington, while Zara and Mike reportedly live at Princess Anne's Gatcombe Park estate. While the future BFFs won't be living next door to one another, they'll both be residing at royal residences in England. Zara has also spent ample time at Kensington Palace, and there's no question she'll be visiting Will and Kate's bundle of joy after the baby arrives. Perhaps she can pick up a few tips from Kate?

Potential Schoolmates? It's unclear where the royal baby will receive an education, but there's always the possibility Will & Kate's child will attend school with Zara's little one. The kids will be around the same age when it's time to head to kindergarten and can accompany each other as classmates. And if they both leave home to attend boarding school? They can keep each other company so they'll never get homesick!

Sharing the Royal Spotlight: It won't easy to grow up under the ever-scrutinizing public eye, but at least these two royals can relate to one another. Prince William and Zara's kids can lean on each other for support and confide in one another as they mature under a microscope no one else can possibly understand. Surely, learning the royal ropes won't be half as bad for these two future BFFs!

Close-Knit Clan: Will and Kate have shown their support for Zara on numerous occasions, and it's clear the entire family is incredibly close. The couple stepped out with Prince Harry to cheer on Zara last summer at the Olympic games, where she took home the silver medal with her U.K. equestrian teammates. In addition to the royal trio, Zara's mother Princess Anne; Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall; Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie; Zara's brother, Peter Phillips; and her rugby captain hubby Mike Tindall were also on hand to witness her finish. Talk about a supportive group! Clearly this royal clan sticks together.

Permanent Wingman (Or Wingwoman!): Considering the Duke of Cambridge is close with all his cousins, it's likely Zara's baby and Prince William's little one will grow up together from day one. Unfortunately, we don't know whether either child is a boy or girl (the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge don't even know the sex of their baby!), but their kids will be by each other's sides for life. Whether its wardrobe sharing, roughhousing, or dishing out dating tips, the possibilities are endless for the future besties.

In the meantime, the world is eagerly awaiting the arrival of the royal baby, who has been given the official title of His or Her Royal Highness the Prince or Princess of Cambridge. Middleton is set to give birth at the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's London Hospital—the same location where Prince William, Prince Harry, Zara and her brother Peter were born.
