Nicole Richie can bust a move!
The Fashion Star mentor shakes her groove thing in the latest installment of Candidly Nicole, in which she heads to the dance studio for a hip-hop workout with choreographer Jeri Slaughter.
"One hundred percent, all I wanted to be growing up was a backup dancer," confesses Richie. "I don't want to sing and have the focus on me. I just want to be out there, just grooving, you know, for two hours."
Perhaps Beyoncéor Britney Spears will make Richie's childhood dream come true after watching her expertly demonstrate such old-school moves as the cabbage patch and running man?
And to hear her tell it, she definitely has enough attitude to pull off a little onstage swag.
"I'm a little too street for Paula Abdul," she boasts, when explaining her dance style to Slaughter.
As if to prove the point, she ditches her trendy cutoff-shorts-and-printed-top combo for an oversize Rottweiler tee, baggy shorts and a few head turning accessories before burning a few calories in a dance routine with Slaughter.
