There was some serious glove love at last night's Met Gala!
From leather to lace, many a glam gal interpreted the gala's punk theme with the evening's go-to accessory. And some even had us doing a double take with gloves that seemed to extend from their very gowns!
Opting for one of the more classic choices of the evening, Kerry Washington added a little edge to opera length gloves by choosing a pair in tough girl leather, while Beyoncé spiced up her long hand warmers by making sure the tips matched the fierce fiery print of her gorgeous Givenchy gown.
And speaking of matching, we couldn't tell where Kim Kardashian's dress stopped and her gloves began, as the flirty floral print of her Givenchy dress seemed to extend all the way to her fingertips. Meanwhile Leelee Sobieski's delicate sheer silk embroidered gloves popped quite nicely against the black tee she layered under her Dior Haute Couture floor length strapless. How's that for a high-low combo?
Brit songbird Paloma Faith also showed off sheer gloves, but her sequined stunners were actually built into her dress, which must have posed a bit of a challenge for everything from handling a cell phone to making a trip to the ladies room! Ah, the sacrifices one makes for fashion.
Far more manageable were Madonna's punk yet practical stud covered gloves, which the Material girl could easily remove, or the fingerless versions we saw on Dee Hilfiger and Lisa Maria Falcone, though in the case of the latter, we have to admit we far prefer peekaboo fingers over a peekaboo bra!
Tune in to E! News Tuesday at 7 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. for even more from the Met Gala.
