While a few stars, including Reese Witherspoon and Jessica Chastain, embraced the pristine side parts and picture-perfect retro curls we've seen at recent award shows like the 2013 Golden Globes, fuss-free hairstyles definitely dominated the 2013 Oscars red carpet. And given the fact that many a star can fall victim to stiff, matronly updos during awards season, we couldn't be happier with the perfectly imperfect hair trend!
Naomi Watts and Amanda Seyfried added edge to their gorgeous gowns with updos featuring stylish stray strands. Similarly, Nicole Kidman went for laid back locks with soft, face-framing tendrils that gave that gave off a nice-and-natural vibe.
Jennifer Garner also rocked loose curls together with her chic chignon, while Amy Adams was perfectly happy letting strands of hair slip away from her stunning twisted updo. Meanwhile, Jenna Dewan worked a hairstyle that featured both face-framing locks and a teased textured updo.
We're fans of the bedhead made beautiful style that gives off a glamorous, not-trying-too-hard look.
