It's a bird! It's a plane! It's...Lindsay Lohan's acting career plummeting faster than a speeding bullet.
But what better way to prove she's not box-office kryptonite than by sharing screen time with Superman himself?!
A source confirms to E! News that Lohan will be reading for the part of an as yet unspecified villain in Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot of the Superman franchise, starring Brit Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel.
She was originally rumored to be eyeing the Lois Lane role, but Oscar nominee Amy Adams snagged that and...yeah. Landing that role at this point would have been the equivalent, for Lohan, of leaping a tall building in a single bound.
Warner Bros. Pictures had no comment on the latest possible Lohan involvement. (Of course, she could be just "Lindsay" by then.)
But E! News has exclusively learned that another director would love to work with the possibly uninsurable 24-year-old!
Photographer Tyler Shields tells E! that he plans to direct and star in a(nother) film about the Manson Family murders, starring himself as Charles Manson and, possibly, Lindsay Lohan as doomed starlet Sharon Tate.
"We are casting the film right now. It looks like its going to be an amazing cast," Shields says, adding that he plans to "rebuild Spahn Ranch" for the production, referring to the deserted 500-acre movie set in the San Fernando Valley that served as a home base for Manson and his followers.
The film, being produced by Monster man Brad Wyman, is to be called Eyes of a Dreamer, says Shields.
Eerily enough, Lohan has already played dead for Shields, posing in various stages of exploitation for him for a book project last year.
Lohan was supposed to star as another tragic pop-culture figure in Inferno, director Matthew Wilder's biopic about Deep Throat star Linda Lovelace, but after somehow hanging onto the part for months, she ultimately lost the role to Malin Akerman when her latest round of legal troubles proved a deal-breaker.
