Wedding bells may be in Pippa Middleton's future.
A source tells E! News that the 32-year-old is engaged to James Matthews after a romantic proposal earlier in the summer.
According to the Daily Mail who first broke the news, the engagement occurred during a July weekend in the Lake District and Pippa was "completely and totally surprised." The publication also reports that James asked Pippa's father for permission before getting down on one knee.
"Mike and Carole Middleton are very happy," a friend of the couple revealed. "They like James and they are sure he will make Pippa very happy."
To be fair, false engagement news is nothing new for Kate Middleton's sister. In addition, the palace is not commenting on the speculation. However, if the romantic story turns out to be a reality, it's welcome news for fans of the couple.
The couple first started dating in 2012 before calling it quits. They would ultimately reunite in 2015 when a special connection couldn't be ignored.
"James has always been on the scene," a source shared with E! News. "He is super charismatic and charming, good looking and always held a torch for Pippa. They have always had insane chemistry, but Pippa was always in a relationship."
As for Pippa's ex-boyfriend Nico Jackson, our insider believed that he was different from James and wasn't able to accept the fame as well.
"[James is] more social and outgoing than Nico, loves society events and celebrity events. Nico never really enjoyed the spotlight. James revels in it," our source shared. "Pippa loves socializing and, with James on her arm, there will be plenty more of it."
Pippa gained plenty of attention in the states when she appeared in a stunning white dress at her sister's wedding to Prince William.
She has gone on to become a party planner, writer and was studying to become a nutritionist—when not biking 54 miles for charity, of course.
