If you're one of those people who thinks 2014 was full of bad news, we're here to prove you wrong!

As it turns out, the past 12 months featured dozens of ordinary Americans doing extraordinary things.

We applauded morning show host Karl Stefanovic for wearing the same suit one entire year to identify sexism in the workplace. We praised 22-year-old college student Jon Meis for tackling an armed gunman at school. And we pretty much wept when Michigan State basketball player Adreian Payne became BFFs with an 8-year-old cancer patient.

We told you this year wasn't just gloom and doom!

Check out the list of nominees below and then vote in our Best Non-Celebrity Do-Gooder of 2014. Let's celebrate some good news and even greater people!
