Jon Furniss/Invision/APJennifer Lawrence didn't look jet-lagged at the London premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire—but she is an Academy Award-winning actress, after all.
The star confirmed to the U.K.'s Sky News on the red carpet that she was unable to join her costars on their chartered private flight to London because she realized when it was time to go that she was without a rather essential piece of traveling gear.
"I forgot my passport and had to fly to another state to get it," Lawrence admitted. "It was miserable."
While we're glad that she ultimately made it, wouldn't it have been so adorably Jennifer-Lawrencey of her if something so ordinary as a misplaced passport had prevented her from getting there?
And Lawrence—who, as we said, didn't look any the worse for wear in a backless Dior dress decorated with what looked like rainbow sprinkles, a bright-red coat and that adorable pixie cut—certainly seemed to ditch the misery before she hit the premiere.
In true heroic Katniss fashion, the 23-year-old abandoned her red-carpet duties for a moment to console a crying little girl, giving the young fan a big hug and kiss and, presumably, a lifelong memory.
So Lawrence has stayed somewhat humble despite being the big muckety-muck on the set now.
Asked by Sky if, because she won an Oscar midway through filming Catching Fire, she started demanding more of her cast mates, the ever-affable Lawrence cracked, "Well, obviously, why would I not?! I brought [my Oscar] to work and everything!"
Besides, she's got a role model to inhabit for just a bit longer.
"Even I growing up I didn't have a female hero the way that Katniss is," J.Law told the BBC's Newsnight this week. "I think she's a wonderful role model for young girls. I'm happy that they have a character like that."
"We have the ability to control this image that young girls are going to be seeing [in The Hunger Games]...girls see enough of this body that they will never be able to obtain," she continued. "It's an amazing opportunity to rid ourselves of that in this industry. And also I think it's better to look strong and healthy and I feel like Kate Moss running at you with a bow and arrow wouldn't really be scary."
How about a foam finger?
"I am just saying, to each their own," she said in response to a question about Miley Cyrus' appearances at both the MTV European Music Awards and the MTV VMAs.
"I don't really worry about it. It's definitely something that's just kind of a part of this world," the actress said when asked if she's concerned about women feeling pressured to be sex objects. "It is a part of the entertainment industry that sells. Sex sells, and for some disgusting reason young sex sells even more."
