No members of the Jackson family were in court today and we're told that Wednesday marked the first time that Michael Jackson's mother was not present since the trial in her wrongful-death lawsuit against AEG Live kicked off April 29.
Michael's daughter, 15-year-old Paris Jackson, was hospitalized Tuesday morning after a reported overdose that's being considered a suicide attempt, according to multiple sources.
Katherine has not commented on what happened, but her attorney issued this statement: "Being a sensitive 15-year-old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you. Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention. Please respect her privacy and the family's privacy."
Paris' aunt La Toya Jackson told E! News yesterday: "We are grateful and appreciate the overwhelming concern for Paris from both the public and the media, but request privacy at this time while our family handles these issues together."
Testimony carried on today in Katherine's suit against AEG Live, which she has accused of negligence in claiming that the hiring of Conrad Murray to oversee her son's medical care helped bring about his death by acute propofol intoxication in 2009.
Attorneys for the concert promoter have denied playing a role in the decision to hire Murray, saying that Jackson was in charge of bringing the doctor onboard. Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011.
