You never stopped believing that the truth was out there, and now for the payoff: the first full-length trailer for the return of The X-Files complete with Mulder, Scully, Skinner, the basement office and so much more.

"In 2002 my investigation ceased, but my personal obsession did not," Mulder says in the first part of the trailer. No, you're shaking and crying!

Raise your hand if you got chills and/or cried when you heard the theme music? Or was it when you saw Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny touch each other? Or was it just from the idea of the new trailer?

The Cigarette Smoking Man! Drones, flashbacks, aliens, explosions, cryptic messages and more! Yessssss.

Anderson, Duchovny, Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis, Annabeth Gish, Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund, and Bruce Harwood all return from the previous series run. Announced newcomers include The Soup's Joel McHale, The Flash star Robbie Amell, Six Feet Under favorite Lauren Ambrose, Flight of the Conchords' Rhys Darby, Annet Mahendru of The Americans and Silicon Valley star (and X-Files superfan) Kumail Nanjiani. Ambrose and Amell are playing two new FBI agents.

Series creator Chris Carter will write and direct three of the six episodes with original series veterans Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan and James Wong writing and directing the other three.

The six episode event series kicks off with Mulder and Scully taking the case of a possible alien abductee. Additional episodes will be a mixture of stand-alone investigations episodes and mythology-based stories.

The X-Files returns Sunday, Jan. 24 on Fox.
