The Good Wife has proven time and time again it's not afraid of a big twist. The latest? It wasn't the death of beloved character, but it's safe to say a little part of Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) died in "Winning Ugly." Spoiler warning!

After (what she thought was) a clean campaign, Alicia won the State's Attorney election. But when allegations of voter fraud and a demand for a recount started, Alicia and Eli (Alan Cumming) did everything in their power to prevent that. As the battle for a recount waged on, Alicia discovered there was voter fraud, but not for her and the Democratic Party asked her to take the bullet to save the majority in the state senate. Obviously this didn't sit well with Alicia and when she tried to fight back, the lawyer assigned to help her with the elections board threw her under the bus.

So what's next? A lot of "self-examination," Margulies told us during a recent set visit. Don't expect her to run for office again. As the character said, she just doesn't a seat or a position handed to her. "My guess is she's going to stay away from politics…I think she's so disgusted with the system," Margulies said.

There's already friction with her law partners Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) and Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry) and you can bet it's going to amp up the drama.

"I think she'll find the good in it and she'll probably fight twice as hard," Margulies said. "But I can guarantee you, it's going to cause conflict in the courtroom."
