The party had to stop sometime.

Paris Hilton's wild nights are a thing of the past, according to the hotel heiress herself. "I like to see girls looking hot and having fun—that's what life's about," she tells DuJour.com. "But I'm kinda over the whole scene. I used to love going out all the time but now it's only for DJ'ing and getting paid." Hilton doesn't party much now, she says, because "Thursday is the cool night, and I have to get up and work."

Yes, work.

Hilton, who was once mocked for "being famous for being famous," has built quite an empire in the last decade. Her 18 perfumes have generated $2 billion in revenue; she has 56 eponymous branded stores in the Middle East and Asia selling her line of handbags; and she has 16 licenses across the categories of clothing, accessories, beauty and watches. Her business, Paris Hilton Entertainment, has hundreds of employees. Hilton is also a popular DJ, with residencies around the world.

Life's not bad for the reality TV pioneer!

Still, Hilton knows some people underestimate her business acumen.

"I was playing a character on The Simple Life, so I don't blame people for thinking I was ditzy," Nicole Richie's childhood best friend says. "People assumed that's who I really was. Now they meet me and realize I'm completely different. But it doesn't bother me that people thought I was dumb. Playing that character made life easier—I do have a certain amount of shyness, which I'm sure is a surprise to people. And I've never cared what people think about me—I know the truth."

She adds, "I've always known what I was capable of."

Right now, Hilton is working on "dance-oriented" music. She will release a new single soon, and she plans to drop a full album this year. "I go to music festivals all over the world, and I'm friends with the DJs now," the "Come Alive" singer tells DuJour.com of being embraced by her peers. "I was always in the booth when I'd go to clubs when I was younger and telling them what to play, so it's a natural evolution. I even love learning about the DJ software and the technical side."

Hilton earns an average of $30,000 an hour to DJ, and she was once reportedly offered $1 million. "My mother always told me it's not polite to discuss money."

With an empire to run, the twice-engaged, 34-year-old blond doesn't have time for dating. "I'm doing what I want," she says. "I don't really have time for a boyfriend."

She's not interested the guys L.A. has to offer, either, saying, "I'd rather be single."
