Mayer's No Player; John Just Wants to Settle Down
Now that John Mayer's turned 32, is he ready to stop being such a player?
Maybe.
While promoting his new album, Battle Studies, the notorious player (face it, his exes list reads like a Who's Who of Hollywood) said he actually wants to explore his picket-fence options with somebody special.
"Everybody wants to settle down," he told E! News. "If my first relationship had gone right, I'd be married by now and have babies. I'd be like 'I'm with my high school sweetheart.' "
Well obviously that didn't happen, but John also says all of his relationships had the potential to go all the way...

Talk about a quickie.
Miley Cyrus admits she didn't have to work too hard for her cameo in the upcoming Sex and the City movie sequel.
"I shot for like an hour and a half, and I was done," Cyrus told Ryan Seacrest this morning on his KIIS-FM morning radio show. "It was like the best job I'd ever been on."
Cyrus appears as herself in a scene in which she and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) wear the same dress to a red carpet event.
"It was a total dream come true," the Hannah Montana star gushed. "It was so cool. Working with Kim was a really cool. And Sarah Jessica Parker was like the nicest person in the world."

Don't tell Jennifer Aniston, but Rashida Jones and John Mayer have been hanging out a lot lately.
After being spotted at the Chateau Marmont Friday night, where he gave an impromptu acoustic peformance, her rep insisted they were having dinner separately with friends.
But just last night, we spotted the two arriving at the Fulfillment Fund Stars Gala at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Mayer, who was scheduled to perform, hit the benefit nearly 45 minutes late—with Jones just steps behind him.
While he ducked backstage, Jones was quickly escorted into the event...

The world simply cannot go on if Jennifer Aniston is single.
Since she's not really dating her Bounty costar Gerard Butler anymore—was she ever?—it's time to assume the 40-year-old is ready to go backwards and rekindle her romance with John Mayer.
If the new cover of OK! magazine is to be believed, she's confirmed "He's Mine!" and they're totally back to being "full-time lovers." And she got the 32-year-old "Who Says" singer back by doing exactly what any dating guru (or six-year-old) would advise: by playing hard to get.
The mag even claims the two are plotting a baby, because what would a Jen Aniston story be without the pitter-patter of tiny feet?
Revelations of the reunion of the crooner and the cougar aren't new. People and Us have quoted sources calling them "great friends," but reported recent hotel stays in the same breath.

John Mayer Just Wants to Smoke Pot
This John Mayer story has nothing to do with his love life, dressing in short-shorts or thoughts about Twitter.
In fact, today it's just about his latest video. And no, it's not even one of those quirky clips he does for a certain tabloid TV show. It's simply about the music, as we unveil the video for "Who Says," the first single off John's upcoming album, Battle Studies.
Here we see John strumming his guitar, hanging out with friends and enjoying the nightlife in various cities, all while asking the question, "Who says I can't get stoned?" throughout his very melodic low-key song.
So check it out and give us your thoughts. In the meantime, we'll be busy trying to figure out who John's hooking up with now.

A World Without Miley Tweets Is a World Without Sunshine

The Twitter gods giveth, and the Twitter gods taketh away. Unfortunately, not even the advent of the "black Svengali" can make up for the disappearance of Disney's biggest princess.
While the world continues to mourn the loss of Miley Cyrus' online overshares, no one appears to be more devastated than her own father, whose heart (but not typing fingers!) is positively achy-broken over his daughter's sudden boyfriend-enabled exit from the microblogging site.
And rather than pick up a phone or attempt—gasp!—face-to-face contact with the superstar fruit of his loins, he instead opted to rally the troops and lead the peer-pressure charge to get Smiley back online.
"Miley. You are a light in a world of darkness," Billy Ray tweeted yesterday. "You were born 'Destiny Hope Cyrus' for a reason. You can't leave everyone now. We r countin on u."
Well, at least we know he's not putting undue pressure on the kid. Now who can the world turn to for their fill of @ replies and RT wisdom? Oh, that's right.
Still, while we can't be totally convinced that daddy dearest's increasingly perspective-losing tweets aren't fueled by the fact that there's a new, apparently more influential man in town, her other supporters' entreaties reek of a little more selflessness. But only just.
Kristin Cavallari Explains "Vanilla" Sex With Brody

Listen up, boys. If you want to get close to Kristin Cavallari, you better not be boring in bed.
Remember how The Hills' new queen bee said in the new trailer that sex with ex-boyfriend Brody Jenner was "very vanilla"?
She explained that comment a little more last night at the Unite Unveiled party she hosted at Skybar.
"We just...didn't really do anything out of the box," she laughed.
Just because Brody was blah between the sheets doesn't mean she wants to jump on the John Mayer train.
Yesterday, she told Ryan Seacrest that Mayer asked her out but she declined, saying she "didn't need to be a notch on his belt."
And last night, she said she wouldn't give him another shot.

John Mayer Makes Sweet Music With Himself, Announces Album Release

John Mayer is taking time out from tweeting, hooking up, denying hooking up and secretly hooking up to make a temporary return to his day job, announcing that his new album, Battle Studies, will be released Nov. 17.
"I approach music like a director doing a period piece," Mayer said. "Where Continuum was R&B and soul, Battle Studies was written with the timelessness of Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac and Neil Young in mind.
"The melodies and message are concise and from-the-gut with the efficiency of simplicity."
Well, living your life at 140 characters can do wonders for your succinctness.
True to form, Mayer has enlisted the help of a cute young blonde for his forthcoming effort. He duets with Taylor Swift on one of his tracks, "Half of My Heart." He announced this week that "Who Says" will be the album's first single.
A North American tour will launch sometime in early 2010.

Taylor Swift's fans aren't the only people outraged by Kanye West's outburst at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The celebrities are backing the starry-eyed teenage titan as well.
"I feel really bad for Taylor Swift. I think it was really disrespectful," Kristin Cavallari told E! News in the press room.
"Dear Kanye, What happened to you as a child?? Did you not get hugged enough??" Swift's fellow Best Female Artist nominee, Kelly Clarkson, blogged immediately after the event. "Something must have happened to make you this way and I think we're all just curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like s--t...I was actually nominated in the same category that Taylor won and I was excited for her, so why can't you be?"
