Dancing With the Stars Elimination Downer: Most Memorable Year Leads to a Crummy Night

Who had to say goodbye after an emotional night?

"No one deserves to go home tonight," proclaimed Dancing With the Stars judge Len Goodman as Tuesday's elimination show got underway.

That was just wishful thinking, of course, because another couple had to go, even after an unheard-of performance night when no one scored lower than a 24 (whether they deserved it or not).

So, who was the unluckiest in viewer love?

He didn't want to be the one to go home—and Gavin DeGraw wasn't!

Instead, seemingly out of nowhere, Jack Wagner got the boot despite a samba dedicated to his long-lost daughter, Kerry, who was in the ballroom last night.

"It was a great time and it was fun to test myself. Thanks to the judges, I appreciate it, and good luck to everybody else!" the visibly surprised actor said.

Safe for at least another week are the obvious choices (Katherine Jenkins, William Levy, Jaleel White and Donald Driver), the solid middle of the pack (Sherri Shepherd, Roshon Fegen and, after last night anyway, Gavin) and the, er, wild cards (Gladys Knight and Melissa Gilbert).

And, Tom Bergeron introduced a very Idol-esque, SYTYCD-ish, Voice-y twist: for the next four weeks, the bottom two couples will dance for their lives simultaneously and the judges will then decide who goes home.

Do you think America got it right last night? And what do you think of the new elimination twist? Sound off in the comments!
