Dancing With the Stars Down to Four!
J.R. Martinez is in the Dancing With the Stars semifinals.
Sorry if that spoiled the suspense, but the guy got two perfect 30s last night. Nowhere but in The Twilight Zone could the actor and Iraq war veteran not make it into the final four.
So, with that out of the way, let's focus on the real drama: Presuming Ricki Lake was golden, as well, who was out? Hope Solo, despite dancing a Len Goodman-approved jive? Nancy Grace, because she came in dead last? Rob Kardashian, because he doesn't have Nancy's rabid fan base?
Dancing With the Stars Mindblower! What Are the Voters Thinking?!
Never say never.
That's what Justin Bieber sang Tuesday on Dancing With the Stars, and that's the attitude five contestants should be sporting after learning that they were safe after yet another elimination.
After a tough Monday show during which the judges handed out no 10s and both Rob Kardashian and Hope Solo out-scored J.R. Martinez, the oddsmakers' choice so far, we weren't sure what to expect tonight.
So, after tunes from Bieber and a touching performance from 17-year-old Victoria-Rose, a ballet dancer who didn't let a brain tumor keep her off the stage for more than a few weeks, it was time to stop being nice—and start getting real.
Is Dancing With the Stars Serving Up a Dose of Disrespect?

Color us not surprised that this season of DWTS has little to do with actual dancing. It's no secret viewers often don't vote for the contestant most skilled at the steps (otherwise Kristin Cavallari wouldn't have gotten the boot).
So on a show that prides itself on raising awareness, embracing all shapes and sizes and giving everyone a chance to dance, why are the judges suddenly adding negativity to their critiques?
And when did it become OK to call Chaz Bono a "penguin"?
Dancing With the Stars Elimination Shocker: Maks Apologizes (and Someone Gets Cut)
Tensions were high heading into the ballroom tonight on Dancing With the Stars.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy lashed out at the judges for what he felt was an unfair critiquing system after Len Goodman called Hope Solo's rumba her worst dance yet. Chaz Bono left the floor demoralized after Bruno Tonioli compared him to a cute fuzzy penguin—one too many comparisons to a round little animal, Chaz felt.
And wouldn't you know, both Hope and Chaz ended up in jeopardy, thereby cranking up the drama from the previous evening and making us all wonder if Chaz's lack of technique was finally going to send him home on the same night he spoke up. Or would Maks, if Hope was eliminated, once again imply that this season would be his last?

But before we can bang the drum for Kelly, there are eight celebs to knock off before a mirror-ball trophy winner can be declared this season. Last night, J.R. Martinez was not surprisingly the best of the bunch, but former front-runner Ricki Lake dropped to the middle of the pack.

Dancing With the Stars' First Elimination: Are You Surprised?!
Somebody always has to go first.
No one wants the distinction of being the first celebrity booted from Dancing With the Stars, but time after time, someone takes the hit, never to be heard from again until the finale.
And this year the ax is swinging even earlier, with ABC opting to get right to business instead of have two performance nights before the first elimination.
Eight points (and potential) separated last place from first yesterday, but with everyone crammed between them...You never know what the voters are going to do on night one.
