Jennifer Lopez Finally Signs New American Idol Deal

American Idol producers have made it official.
They just announced what I've already told you—Jennifer Lopez will return to American Idol.
But for how long?

While I'm told there was no question that Lopez would return, she insisted on limiting her commitment to just one more season.
Fox and Idol producers wanted more, sources tell me.
In other words, things are staying the same for the show's 11th season with Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson judging and Ryan Seacrest hosting. "Having both Jennifer and Steven return to Idol in 2012 alongside Randy is such a positive reflection on what was a wonderful and hugely successful season last year, and everyone is delighted," the show's creator and executive producer Simon Fuller said in a statement.
The new season is set to kickoff Jan. 22 on Fox.
