So this is where it all began.

Long before Chris Evans and Jenny Slate were walking red carpets together as a couple, the famous pair was just two Hollywood stars working on a movie together.

That special project was director Marc Webb's upcoming drama titled Gifted.

In the official trailer released Tuesday morning, fans are able to watch Frank Adler (Chris) fight for the custody of his deceased sister's daughter Mary. Along the way, her teacher played by Jenny can't help but notice the young girl's intelligence leading to a big debate.

"I think your niece may be gifted," Jenny tells Chris when suggesting a school for gifted students. Chris replies, "I promised my sister I'd give Mary a normal life."

Octavia Spencer, Lindsay Duncan and newcomer McKenna Grace also star in the film set to open April 12, 2017.

For those not up to date on Chris and Jenny's relationship, E! News confirmed back in May that the pair was indeed a couple.  And before the public knew about their relationship status, the duo shared their first impressions of one another on Anna Faris' Unqualified podcast.

"I didn't know what to expect when I met Chris. I was a little scared because I kind of felt like, Well, I don't know him. He's a giant man with huge muscles and he's Captain America. How could we ever connect?" Jenny said. "[But] the first night that we hung out, I was like, 'Wow, I could hang out with Chris for, like, 90 hours.'"

Chris added, "Oddly enough, I've only known Jenny for a few months, which is insane to say because we're like the same animal."

They would later make their red carpet debut as a couple at the premiere of the new animated film The Secret Life of Pets in New York.

"The Secret Life of Pets was fantastic! @jennyslate was a personal favorite," Chris tweeted.
