Chris Evans has pledged his allegiance to Jenny Slate.

The star of Captain America: Civil War recently began dating the writer and star of Obvious Child, a source confirms to E! News. The couple met in October 2015 on the set of director Marc Webb's drama Gifted. The coupling news comes shortly after it was revealed that Jenny and film editor Dean Fleischer-Camp have called it quits after three and half years of marriage.

Two months ago, Chris and Jenny went on a double date with Chris' brother, Scott Evans, at Magnolia in Hollywood. "At one point, Jenny and Chris had some alone time on the patio," a source tells E! News. While there was "no overt PDA," Chris and Jenny "looked like a couple."

A separate insider tells us, "Jenny has met Chris' friends...They are just in the stage of getting to know each other."

In April—just weeks before their romance was revealed—Jenny and Chris shared their first impressions of one another on Anna Faris' Unqualified podcast. "I didn't know what to expect when I met Chris. I was a little scared because I kind of felt like, Well, I don't know him. He's a giant man with huge muscles and he's Captain America. How could we ever connect?" Jenny said. "[But] the first night that we hung out, I was like, 'Wow, I could hang out with Chris for, like, 90 hours." According to Chris, the feeling was mutual. "Oddly enough, I've only known Jenny for a few months," he said, "which is insane to say because we're like the same animal."

While Jenny and Chris appear to be taking things slowly, the 34-year-old actor has often said he's ready to settle down and start a family. In fact, he told Glamour U.K. in 2014, "I want to get married, though I want children—to me that's the ultimate thing. When you're old and on your deathbed, looking back at your life it's not going to be the films you've made or what you've accomplished, it's the relationships you have. You're survived by things that matter—the people you love and those who love you back." Similarly, Chris told E! News in 2015, "You get to a point where you want the next thing. You see people who are just so happy and have great kids. It's one of those things you're looking forward to doing. You can't rush it, but that's definitely where I'm looking."

Us Weekly was first to report the actors' relationship news.
