Athletes at the 2016 Rio Olympics are practicing a lot of things: their different sports, their gold medal acceptance speeches, their intimidating faces...and even safe sex!

Yes, the Rio Games have been promoting the practice of safe sex thanks to a select group of individuals whose job it is to hand out free condoms and refill condom-dispersing machines around Olympic Village—which makes sense, considering the spikes in Tinder usage around the area!

Take Eric, for example. A reporter for SB Nation, Rodger Sherman, met Eric and caught this amazing photo of him, throwing a thumbs up while completing his feat: handing rubbers out around the village.

The condom distributors are an important facet of Olympic Village.

In fact, earlier this week, an insider told E! News that, behind closed doors, things have been getting hot and heavy in Rio.

"It's pretty intense," the source said. "Some athletes wait until after their competition [to party] and then others have hookups between practices because they say sex actually helps them reach for the gold."

Our insider continued, "For the most part, these athletes are protected and careful because the condom stock is endless. They are extra careful this year because of Zika."

According to our insider, athletes are usually hooking up with other athletes because of the Village's strict curfew rules.

"Many of the athletes prefer to meet other athletes on Tinder and other dating apps because that's easier, and then they do group dates with other athlete friends. Many of these women and men have been out of the dating game or never in the dating game before the Olympics, so it's a lot to take in for these athletes, especially after training so hard to be here."

And thus, we thank Eric and his colleagues for their service!
