Your Favorite Ice Cream Brands Are Ripping Off Each Other's Menu Items and Selling Them as Their Own

Dairy Queen, Baskin-Robbins and Ben & Jerry's are borrowing ideas

It takes a lot to stay hip and current in the food world. Especially in the junk food world where places like Taco Bell and Mickey D's have been pulling out all the stops lately. With foods like the Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry or Cheeto-stuffed Crunchwrap Sliders, our favorite fast food ice cream joints have to keep up too. At what cost, however? It seems like Dairy Queen and Baskin-Robbins are living by the old phrase, 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.' In other words, they're ripping each other (and other ice cream brands) off left and right. Example one being the above image. Did we not already experience the glory of center-filled ice cream via Ben and Jerry's?

Now, according to Delish, DQ has rolled out essentially the same thing called the Royal Blizzard. While both look like the perfect cure for PMS, we can't exactly offer DQ any points for originality here. Even though we're #TeamBen&Jerry's in this case, we'll humor you with what to expect out of the new Blizzard. Customers can ask for Royal Oreo, Royal New York Cheesecake and Royal Rocky Road Brownie. Core fillings include chocolate fudge for the Oreo Blizzard, Strawberry for the Cheesecake and Marshmallow for the Rocky Road.

The queen of Dairy isn't doing all the copying in this competitive ice cream game, however. Competitor Baskin-Robbins, GrubGrade says, has created the Polar Pizza. Now we have to ask —is this not an exact replica of DQ's nostalgic Treatzza Pizza!? Don't front like you started this, Baskin. We know the '90s, and we're onto you. If you must know, the Polar Pizza comes in OREO Cookies ‘N Cream, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter ‘n Chocolate, Jamoca Almond Fudge with Heath bar and good old Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. The "pizza dough" will be made from brownie or cookie dough, unlike DQ's Oreo crust. Okay so maybe they're a tad different, but we're sticking by our love for the Treatzza Pizza no matter what.
