The best piece of advice you'll get from any of Bravo's Real Housewives when looking to become one yourself? If you aren't having a good time, get out!

That's the wisdom The Real Housewives of New York City breakout Dorinda Medley imparted on Bravo's newest group of ladies, The Real Housewives of Dallas—and it's something they've taken to heart. (As they should—the martini queen knows a thing or two about having a good time!)

"I got advice from Dorinda, and she basically said, 'You have to go into it. You have to try and have fun with it. And if you're not having fun, you probably shouldn't be doing it," newbie Brandi Redmond revealed to E! News at NBCUniversal's Summer Press Day.

Dorinda wasn't the only Housewife to share some survival tips for starring in the Bravo franchise. "I spoke with Kyle Richards and [husband] Mauricio [Umansky] prior to this whole thing happening to me, and Kyle gave some great advice to stay in your lane and just do you. Don't try and be something you're not, just be yourself," Cary Deuber added. "I was scared. I was like, 'Do I have to act like someone else?' They're like, 'No. You're on this show because you're you!'"

Something tells us Brandi, Cary, and the rest of the Lone Star state ladies won't have much trouble being themselves—especially after watching that ultra-dramatic look at their first season, which premieres tonight. (Seriously, one of the 'Wives goes after a camera!) Whether or not they'll continue having fun, that remains to be seen.

The Real Housewives of Dallas also stars Stephanie Hollman, Tiffany Hendra, and LeeAnne Locken, along with friend Marie Reyes
