The Stefan Salvatore-Klaus Mikaelson bromance is rekindling very soon, when the Vampire Diaries vamp heads down to New Orleans for a two-hour, two-show crossover event—the first reunion of The Originals and its mothership series since 2014, when Nina Dobrev played another Petrova doppelganger—the original!—on the spinoff.
E! News has some exclusive first look photos for you, featuring Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) joining forces during the Originals episode. Stefan will find himself in Nola when he seeks refuge from mysterious magical forces during the TVD half of the crossover, and will stay in Louisiana to help Klaus with a problem relating to the prophecy that's haunted the Original family all season.
"The crossover, actually, will be the first thing to give a little bit of a tease about the prophecy that makes us say, 'Oh, wait a second, that's interesting,'" creator Julie Plec told us when the event was announced in January.
TVD showrunner Caroline Dries teased ahead of the midseason premiere that the episodes will touch on the relationship the frenemies have maintained over the years, especially now that Stefan is dating Caroline (Candice Accola), the former object of Klaus' affection.
"We knew we wanted to see Joseph and Paul Wesley together on screen because they've had the longest history on these shows, apart from Elijah and Katherine," she said. "Now they have some…interesting conversation over some bourbon."
The Originals episode will see eldest Mikaelson sibling Freya (Riley Voelkel) enlisting Stefan's help to save Klaus and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) when her brothers are caught inside a magical trap.
Check out both exclusive new pics above. The two-hour crossover event airs Friday, Feb. 26 on The CW.
