It's the end of an era.

NCIS is set to say goodbye to Michael Weatherly this season as the star is set to exit the CBS drama after 13 seasons. But the question now is HOW Tony DiNozzo will leave the show...and if Cote de Pablo will return to as Ziva for his sendoff.

CBS president Glenn Geller took the stage at the 2015 Winter TCA Press Tour to field reporters' burning questions about Weatherly's exit.

"They are working on how Michael's character is going to be written out," Geller said of NCIS' creative team. "Gary [Glasberg] and the producers are working on that right now."

But will Tony and Ziva ride off into the sunset together? Sadly, when asked if there are plans for Cote de Pablo to return to the CBS drama, Geller said, "not currently."

Admitting he (and his mother!) will "definitely miss" "Very Special Agent" Tony DiNozzo, Geller said he "completely" understands Weatherly's choice. "His decision was his," he explained. "It was a creative one. He was in the role for 13 years and I completely understand that and wish him well."

The actor confirmed his exit earlier this month on Twitter. "DiNozzo is a wonderful, quixotic character & I couldn't have had more fun playing him over the past 13 seasons." He also shared his gratitude for the cast, crew and dedicated fans who made his experience great, writing, "I will miss the amazing crew & cast, who are like family to me, & to the fans all over the world - THANK YOU, it's been a fantastic ride!"

CBS also confirmed Weatherly's exit in a statement to E! News, saying, "He is a valued part of the CBS family, and the immense charm and talent he brings to the screen as 'Very' Special Agent Tony DiNozzo has helped make NCIS what it is today—the No. 1 drama in the world. We thank Michael for all of his contributions to this successful franchise and look forward to continuing to develop projects with him as part of our ongoing development deal."
