Spoiler alert—Read on at your own risk... You know how everyone's so certain we haven't seen the last of Jon Snow on Game of Thrones? Or how we're pretty positive those weren't Glenn's guts being guzzled on The Walking Dead? Well, there's a reason for that.

Several of TV's biggest characters have set quite a precedent when it comes to death—namely, that it doesn't always stick. Whether it's a surprise resurrection a la Sara Lance on Arrow, an elaborate hoax courtesy of Sherlock on Sherlock, a revelation that someone widely believed dead never actually died (Hey, Pretty Little Liars' Ali!) or one long, annoying dream—we're looking at you, Dallas—these 21 characters have proven that shuffling off the mortal coil doesn't mean they're even remotely gone for good.

So, while you wait with bated breath for any advancements on Jon (Kit Harington) and Glenn's (Steven Yeun) fates, we suggest you take a look at their possible predecessors. (Key word: Possible. We're not fortune tellers.) Be warned, again: There be spoilers ahead. Spoilers aplenty!
